How to write a plastic raw material requirement that gets accurate quotes
PlasticSetu sourcing desk · Updated 14 Oct 2026
A vague requirement such as "need PP" brings vague prices back. A complete one gets comparable quotes, faster, from suppliers who really have the material.
The eight things to include
- Polymer: PP, HDPE, LDPE, PET and so on.
- Form: scrap, regrind, agglomerate, granules or compound.
- Grade or end use: raffia, injection, blow, pipe, film or fibre.
- Colour: natural, white, coloured, black or mixed.
- Key specs: MFI range, moisture, filler or ash, IV for PET.
- Quantity: first order and expected monthly volume.
- Delivery: city and whether you want freight included.
- Timing and payment: when you need it and your payment terms.
Example
"Recycled PP granules, injection grade, natural colour, MFI 10–14 (230 °C / 2.16 kg), moisture under 0.2%. 10 MT trial, then 25 MT a month. Delivery to Pune, freight included. Need within 10 days, 50% advance and balance on delivery."
Comparing the quotes
Compare the landed cost, not just the rate: add GST and freight, and check validity, lead time and payment terms. PlasticSetu quotations show all of these in one place so you can compare them side by side.
